I started playing piano at the age of 5, when my mother, a church organist and piano teacher, started me with lessons. She ‘gave up’ on me after a year, and sent me to a local piano teacher. At age 9, I played my first public solo at Mt. Hermon Christian Campgrounds, in front of an audience of over 500. It must have been a fun experience, as I still remember it clearly.
I took piano and organ lessons through high school, and went to Biola University on a music scholarship, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance.
For the past 28 years, my “day job” has been as a Worship Pastor. I’ve served in three churches, and have spent my last 10 years as the Worship Arts Pastor of Calvary Community Church of Manteca, California. Playing and leading music that brings people closer to God is an amazing privilege, and I’m thankful for each day I’m able to do so.
In addition, I’ve played piano and keyboards in several bands along the way, and currently play keyboards for Unit 7, a jazz band based in the Central Valley.
Over the years, I’ve played piano for hundreds of weddings, funerals, and other events. As no two are alike, I don’t take a “cookie cutter” approach to playing for special occasions. Rather, I try and find out exactly what your needs are, any special songs you’d like played, etc.
I hope and trust I can enhance your next party or event.
